50th Annual CNY RV and Camping Show Opens Today AUDIO: CNY RV and Camping Show Opens Today

CAMPGOERS AND RV ENTHUSIASTS ARE HERE AT THE 50TH ANNUAL CNY RV AND CAMPING SHOW. WITH HUNDREDS OF RV’S AVAILABLE FROM NINE DIFFERENT DEALERS, ATTENDEES HAVE LOTS TO CHOOSE FROM. SHOW MANAGER JAMES KRING SAYS HE LOVES BRINGING TOGETHER THE BUYERS AND SELLERS.

”I know that there’s a lot of families that are fed and housed, tuition, and shoes, and scrambled eggs on the table out of a show like this.”

KRING HAS BEEN WITH THE RV SHOW SINCE IT BEGAN 50 YEARS AGO. BUT THERE ARE MANY ATTENDEES THAT ARE FIRST TIME-BUYERS. BILL MCCAMPBELL SAYS THE SHOW MAKES IT EASY FOR HIM TO LOOK FOR HIS FIRST RV.

“I think the way that they have all of the exhibits set up, they have them by brand, they have them by design and by class, so it makes it easy to go look specifically for what you’re in the market for”

THE CNY RV SHOW STARTED IN JUST ONE BUILDING 50 YEARS AGO AND NOW FILLS UP FOUR BUILDINGS AT THE FAIRGROUNDS DUE TO INCREASING POPULARITY. FOR N-C-C NEWS, I’M CHRISTOPHER QUERIPEL.

SYRACUSE, NY. (NCC News) — The CNY RV and Camping show opens today at the New York State Fairgrounds for the fiftieth consecutive year. Hundreds of  RV’s are on display for attendees. The fair offers free parking and $12 tickets for unlimited access to the show. A full list of times and prices can be found on the show’s website.

This year marks the 50th year of the event and show manager, James Kring has been involved since the beginning. Kring said he likes being able to bring buyers and sellers together into one location. He also added his favorite thing about the event is bringing these sides together.

“Bringing consumers, the buyers, and sellers together, and I know that there’s a lot of families that are fed and housed, tuition, and shoes, and scrambled eggs on the table out of a show like this it’s just free enterprise in action,” Kring said.

Customers at the show have the chance to tour the RV’s or buy if they find what they are in the market for.

The show attracted fans from the past 50 years and newcomers to the show. Bill McCampbell has been to the show in the past but this year he was in the market for his first RV. As a new potential buyer, he appreciated the effort that went into organizing the displays.

“I think the way that they have all of the exhibits set up, they have them by brand, they have them by design and by class, so it makes it easy to go look specifically for what you’re in the market for,” McCampbell said.

The RV show opened today and lasts until Sunday.  The event is held in four separate buildings at the fairgrounds within walking distance or by the free shuttle. Hundreds of RV’s are on display from nine different dealers from the Central New York area. This event won’t be the last RV show of the year. Later in September, the New York State RV show comes back to the fairgrounds.
