Planters’ NUTmobile Makes a Stop in Syracuse Planter's NUTmobile Stops in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) – The Planters NUTmobile is continuing it’s nationwide tour with a stop in Syracuse this week.

“Peanutters” Jordyn Hack and Patrick Golden graduated college last year, and since have traveled the country in the big peanut on-wheels.

Golden is from Houston, and graduated from the University of Texas in May of 2018.

“We embarked on our year long NUTmobile journey in Madison, Wisconsin where we learned the ins-and-outs of the Nutmobile and what it means to represent a famous brand and to chauffeur Mr. Peanut all across the country. We started in June of last year and will finish our job off in June of this year,” Golden said.

The NUTmobile currently making a stop in Syracuse is not the only one that is making stops across the United States. There are three total vehicles, with three drivers per NUTmobile.

“So each NUTmobile tends to focus on a particular part of the United States. So there’s one NUTmobile that’s out west, one that’s in the midwest…and one that is in the eastern part of the United States,” Golden said.

It’s only been around for a few years, but the NUTmobile has quickly become one of America’s most famous vehicles.

“The NUTmobile has actually been around for six years, this is it’s sixth tour across the country, but the brand has been around for a long time. Mr. Peanut, our icon obviously, he’s 103-years-old this year. The NUTmobile program is just adding to the excitement,” Hack said.

As part of their stop in Syracuse,  Hack and Golden are recruiting college seniors to be in the next class of  NUTmobile drivers. Hack, a Detroit native and Indiana University graduate, says you can get some great experience out of being a “Peanutter.”

“We wear so many different hats: marketing, PR, advertising, event coordinating. You name it, we are kind of doing it on the road…I think it is a wonderful post-grad opportunity to travel the country at this age. I think it’s a perfect way to spend your year right after college.”

Golden says their journey has taken them around the country to places like San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Philadelphia, and Boston.

“And now we are making our way down south. I’ll actually be in Georgia in a couple weeks…It’s a new city every single week,” Golden said.

“It’s super fun traveling across the country in a giant peanut,” Hack added.
