SYRACUSE, N.Y.(NCC News) — Two cannabis dispensaries in Central New York have been shut down after numerous complaints about several unauthorized pop-up shops selling cannabis products.
In response to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s restructuring of the Office of Cannabis Management in May, the newly formed Cannabis Enforcement Task Force has been established.
This task force, composed of New York State Police and OCM officials, is designed to try and tackle the issue. They now possess the authority to promptly close down any establishment found selling illegal cannabis products upon inspection.
One of the affected businesses is the Top Choice convenience store in Cicero. It is now covered with notices declaring closure and the seizure of illicit cannabis.
