Charlotte, N.C. — (NCC News)   Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown stands under the lights, all eyes on him. He’s not standing on the field, but at a lectern. There’s a navy and orange backdrop behind him and dozens of cameras in front of him.

It’s ACC media days, and the first official event of the 2024 college football season.

Brown took the stage Thursday morning, alongside quarterback Kyle McCord, running back LeQuint Allen and defenders Justin Barron and Fadil Diggs.

Brown was announced as Syracuse’s new head coach back in November, and brought McCord to the program from Ohio State.

“I’m honored and thankful he’s our quarterback and he’s the leader of our football team,” Brown said.

McCord said he’s had a smooth transition from the Buckeyes to the Orange, and is expecting a “dynamic” offense this year.

“I feel like we’ll be dynamic,” McCord said. “I feel like the toughness is definitely there. I think if we can combine those two things, we’ll be off to a good start.”

The Orange are working toward their first seven-win season in two years. Syracuse will host Ohio on August 31 in the season opener.
