Today in the dome there is a career fair which Is one of the many activities Syracuse is hosting for career week

I think 190 companies are here today for students from all majors and so many opportunities to really start applying what they’re learning in the classroom and to explore as far as job opportunities.

The career fair in the JMA Wireless Dome and all of Career Week remind students that it is never too early to start networking for their future careers.

It’s important because that’s kind of why we’re here we’re putting in the work to study and prepare for our next journey and our next phase of our careers so we just want to be as prepared as possible, and networking can actually unveil and help you discover the next step.

Junior Alexander Rerrie said it was his first career fair and he would tell students to prepare ahead of time and know what they want to get out of the event

I would say don’t stress it, don’t rush it, prepare for it.

For career week Career Services recommends students have updated resumes on hand, do their research about companies, and do a follow-up with any companies they like through handshake.

It’s just career week because there are events that are much larger scale but every day there are opportunities for students to meet employers or alumni that are hiring, we should call it career year.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — This week is Career Week, where all week long there are different opportunities for students to network with future employers.
Career Services hosted a Career and Internship Fair on Tuesday. The event features almost 200 employers and students had the opportunity to get a professional headshot done.
Later this week there is an Engineering and Computer Science Career and Internship Fair, resume and cover letter session, and a Whitman Career Workshop.
Director of Career Advising, Kristin Aust says it is called career week due to the large fair events but there are plenty of events hosted by career services throughout the semester.
