Kitchen and baking supplies increasing as holidays draw near

Nick Ursini: CELEBRATING FIFTY YEARS OF BUSINESS, GERHARZ EQUIPMENT IS READY FOR THE HOLIDAY RUSH. TWO THINGS THAT GO HAND IN HAND DURING THE HOLIDAYS, FAMILY AND FOOD. GERHARZ HAS AISLES FULL OF SUPPLIES, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE HOSTING GATHERINGS.

Greg Rhoad: “We budget for the increased revenue. We definitely stock more this time of year for those specific products.”

Nick Ursini: “With the holidays just around the corner, there is a bigger increase in buying in bulk because of large gatherings.”

Mark Olson: “For New Year’s it’s the decorations, the party favors and the champagne glasses.”

Nick Ursini: AS FALL TURNS TO WINTER, THE SEASON OF GIVING STARTS. FOR GERHARZ EQUIPMENT, IT IS THE SEASON THEY LOOK FORWARD TOO.

Mark Olson: “Everybody has a season and this is our season. We make sure that every time this year we ramp up with our supplies. We add delivery staff just in case. We work Saturdays in case. So things like that to make sure we take care of the customer.”

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – As the holiday season draws closer and closer, one store in Syracuse is ready.

During the holidays for Gerharz, it is all hands on deck for baking and cooking equipment to meet the needs of those holiday feeds. The store is stocking up on kitchen and cooking supplies, especially for those hosting parties and large gatherings.

“Flat wears and disposables, things used for catering mostly. Holidays bring together a large number of people. A lot for baking, people are replacing products so they can do holiday cookies and sheet pans,” said Greg Rhoad, the sales manager at Gerharz.

Gerharz  stocks supplies all year round. Yet, when November and December hit, the sales of kitchen, baking and cooking supplies increases.

“We budget for the increased revenue,” Rhoad said. “We definitely stock more this time of year for those specific products.”

With Thanksgiving just two and a half weeks away and Christmas not that far away, there is a bigger increase in buying in bulk.

Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Mark Olson, says that although Thanksgiving and Christmas are big, New Years is another chance to help supply the party.

“Decorations, party favors and champagne glasses are big,” Olson said.

Gerharz Equipment is located at 220 Teall Ave in Syracuse.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
