Liberman:”Here’s the latest national and international news from NCC News. I’m Brianna Liberman.

The number of covid-19 cases in New York has topped 67,000, making it the current hotspot for the virus.New York City paramedics like Jack Chapman say they weren’t ready for this exponential growth.

Chapman:”I don’t think we were really prepared for how widely this has spread.”

Liberman:”Hospitals nationwide are expected to be at full capacity within the next month. Lieutenant General Todd Semonite says the U.S. Army Corp. will continue to build makeshift facilities.

Semonite:”Two big types of thoughts. One is hotels and dormitories. We are doing alot of those. The other one is large, big open spaces, field hospitals, and convention centers.

Liberman:”This comes just days after the Army Corps completed a 3,000 bed facility in Manhattan.

And the FDA has approved a rapid coronavirus test expected to roll out this week.Patients will be given the results in as little as five minutes, cutting the waiting period by days. It doesn’t require a lab and can be taken at a doctor’s office.

And the FDA is planning to roll out a rapid coronavirus test this week. The new test will cut the waiting period by days, which will allow sick patients to be treated sooner.
