This is Jaynee Zhao with the NCC news podcast for today… Monday June 15. Here’s what NCC News is working on. The world has been facing global health issues nearly six months now. In the U-S… we’ve reach at least 115 thousand deaths. But parts of the country are getting better. As Governor Andrew Cuomo says, that includes New York State.
“New York State has been following the data. On the numbers we are making really great progress.”
But some people are still hurt economically by the virus, In Syracuse North Side Learning Centre is ready to help those who have trouble getting food. N-S-L-C has volunteers to distribute food to vulnerable families. Youth leader Hussien Yerowh (Yeroo) helps with the program.
“Since I was young, I always wanted to help others and make their days and make like whoever is in need, just give the hand if I’m capable of giving it.”

As New York States reopening, more companies are planning back to their normal, including the buses.
“Centro bus stops charging fees at the end March because of Covid-19. Today the buses are on the path to the normal schedule. Vice president of business development and cooperate communication says the most important thing is the riders’ safety.”
Our third story, updates on the George Floyd protest. In Syracuse, it’s been the 17th day of marching. Protesters are not only taking to the streets, but also the walls. They’re planning to paint a mural in front of city hall. The Co-founder of “Last Chance for Change” says the mural is just the first step.
“Everything is cool, but we also want real solutions, Painting is not real solutions that can kind of covering the problem.”
Checking on sports, for New York teenagers, low-risk youth sports can begin on July 6th. Sports like baseball, softball, gymnastics, field hockey, cross country and crew will be able to resume in a little over three weeks.
