SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – As cases for COVID-19 continue to drop in Central New York, businesses are trying to go back to normal. One of those businesses beginning to open in phases is Centro.
Beginning today, Centro will start charging bus fares once again. The transit company will also resume its regular weekly service. Barriers have been installed on the buses to keep a safe distances between the bus operator and passengers.
Steve Koegel, the vice president of business development and corporate communication, says the company is doing everything it can to maintain a safe environment.
“We hand wipe all of our buses daily. They get hand wiped overnight when they come off the road and all of our buses are on a regular schedule to be fogged. So theres a fogging machine that disinfect the buses as well,” Koegel said.
Centro buses strongly encourages riders to wear face masks, however, they will not be denied service if they choose not to.
