RED BANK, N.J. (N.C.C News) – Red Bank Catholic High School plans to reopen in the fall with a new option for students, according to the school’s dean of freshmen and world language chair Nicole Piroso.

Piroso says the school will give students a choice to learn from home if they are concerned over the virus.

“There are students who if they are choosing to stay home and learn remotely they do have that option,” Piroso said. “The teachers will be teaching within the classroom as well as having a Google meet for those students in real class time.”

A number of changes will go into effect in the fall for incoming students, according to Piroso. She says each student will be required to wear a face mask at all times throughout the school day. The stairwells on either side of the building will be limited to one ways only in order to eliminate large groups.

She believes the school’s extracurricular activities may be placed on hold.

“Unfortunately it does not look like they are going to have clubs or any kind of class meetings,” Piroso said. “A lot of things have to be pushed off until things look a little better.”

Piroso says classrooms will provide the necessary requirements for safe learning. Desks will be separated by six feet. Teachers will conduct each lesson behind a plexiglass window which will be attached to the podium.

The high school scheduled its reopening for August 30.
