SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – When looking for a night of enjoyment, Central New Yorkers can experience a variety of entertainment and dining options in Downtown Syracuse. Wildflowers Armory, located at the corner of East Fayette and South Salina Streets, doubles as an artisan vendor market, as well as a venue for live entertainment and hosting of events.
The Wildflowers founder and co-owner Michael Heagerty elaborated on the relationship between the shop and the Syracuse community. Wildflowers gives regional talent the opportunity to showcase artwork and allows patrons to purchase unique handmade items.
Heagerty described mercantile as being made for people who have an entrepreneurial spirit but are on the fence about their ideas and then “ripping it open and giving them the opportunity.”
Wildflowers has held many events in the past, each featuring new artists and vendors, giving exposure to their expressive artwork and handmade items. These “Sidewalk Sessions” are usually accompanied by live local musicians playing songs that echoe along the streets.
The newest addition to the Wildflowers community is Nectar Espresso Bar & Vintages. Owners of the bar Nicole and Kayla Guindon bring a novel approach to coffee enjoyment with its classic antiques. The European Espresso Bar will feature coffee, homemade pastries and vintage tea-cup sets. The opening party for the bar will mirror its unique aesthetic.
“We’re working on the grand opening which will be a high tea event with live music and ya know, the works” Heagerty said, “Get dolled up and come sip tea and eat crumpets.”
Community members can look forward to the grand opening of Nectar Espresso Bar & Vintages, tentatively scheduled for early August.
