SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — A Halloween party is being held this Tuesday afternoon at the East Syracuse Elementary School.

The almost thirtieth annual event hosted by the Village of East Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a spooky night for children. The Parks and Recreations Assistant Director Keith Caiello says the party is going to be a night to remember.

“Lot of fun, lot of music food and drinks, and a bunch of games and of course a lot of candy for the kids,” said Caiello.

Since Halloween falls on a Sunday, hosting the party on a school day was more convenient, said Caiello.

“They could just walk down to the gym so they don’t have to go home and get transported back. So they just walk down to the gym and have the party right after school,” said Caiello.

Having the party in the school makes Halloween safer for children, said Caiello.

“Safety is definitely a huge factor for us and a huge benefit of having it at the school for that reason, no one coming in and out and all the doors are locked and that’s always nice, we don’t have to worry about any kids getting lost or running off,” said Cailleo.

Even though the rain has brought some events inside, the party will still be a spook-tacular time.
