SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – March 1st will mark the first day of the annual Downtown Syracuse Dining Weeks. This year there will be over 50 local restaurants that will be participating in one of the biggest promotional events of the year. While there are indeed many included in the campaign, Danny’s Steaks will be apart of the fun for the very first time. The cheesesteak restaurant opened in December of last year and owner Kyle Mastropietro said things are off to a good start.
“It’s been going very well… reception has been very good,” Mastropietro said. “Customers are loving something a little different in Syracuse.”
One potential new customer is Chilekasi Adele, a native of Philadelphia who said he’s just waiting for the right opportunity to go eat at the new restaurant.
“I’m waiting to head down there, hopefully I’ll get the chance to do so,” Adele said.
Adele should have a great opportunity to do just that next Tuesday when the dining weeks begin. As Mastropietro explains, the two week period in March will give his restaurant a boost.
“For Danny’s Steaks it’ll be good ya know help get the word out to people who might not come downtown often who maybe didn’t know that we’re here,” Mastropietro said.
Mastropietro is also the owner of Kasai – a ramen restaurant (located next door to Danny’s) that has participated in the dining weeks program previously. Because of this, Mastropietro understands how significant the campaign is for local restaurants.
“Every year it’s a very very busy week,” Mastropietro said. “It’s great for business, we just see a lot more foot traffic.”
