ANTHONY MCKENNA: AC Syracuse Pulse started its first season just a couple weeks ago. Along with all of the on-field goals, the team’s General Manager and Director of Investments and Sponsorship Bill Testa says that he hopes to help those in the area.

BILL TESTA: One of my goals is to bring a lift not only to the small businesses, but to the community.

MCKENNA: One initiative the team has involves fans being able to get pictures they took at the game printed for free. Testa also says that this a way to get local businesses involved.

TESTA: So the consumer will get a chance to keep their picture, which is their memory of the game, but attached to it is the small business that they can go redeem a coffee or restaurant.

MCKENNA: One local business that has already been heavily involved with the club is Wolff’s Biergarten. Going forward, you’ll be able to come here and to other local businesses to take part in a weekly town hall meeting with the team’s manager, Peter Fuller.

JOSEPH JONES: And they wanted to hold all of their PR events here, including the coach’s signing, which they did, which was really cool.”>

MCKENNA: Jones also says the timing of the games helps

JONES: It makes it a little bit more fun because usually on Wednesday evening around 9 or 10 o’clock or even 7, no not 7. But 9 or 10 o’clock sometimes it could die down a little bit.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)- There’s a new professional soccer team that just started up in Syracuse. The team, AC Syracuse Pulse, is just getting started on the field, but they are already making an impact off the field.

AC Syracuse Pulse started its first season just a couple weeks ago. For now, the team plays their home games at Onondaga Community College. Along with all of the on-field goals, the team’s General Manager and Director of Investments and Sponsorship Bill Testa said that he hopes to help those in the area.

“One of my goals is to bring a lift not only to the small businesses, but to the community,” Testa said.

Testa also described a service that will be available to fans that also helps local businesses in Syracuse.  Fans who take pictures at AC Syracuse home games can get their pictures printed for free. Along with free printed pictures, fans will also receive coupons to local businesses that are partnered with AC Syracuse.

One local business that has already been heavily involved with the club is Wolff’s Biergarten. In the future, there will be weekly meetings held at the bar along with other local businesses. The general manager of Wolff’s Biergarten, Joseph Jones, has enjoyed the relationship with the team already.

There are also watch parties held at Wolff’s by the Salt City Supporter’s Group for AC Syracuse games.
