Thank you very much.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)– The Downtown Syracuse Farmers Market wrapped up its 50th Anniversary season on Oct. 11. Residents walked around Clinton Square one last time to enjoy live music, eat fall goodies, and support the local vendors.
Iris Maxwell has been coming to the farmers market for over a decade. This year she was able to bring her great grandkids along with her.
“The kids love it,” Maxwell said. “They come out here and play, and you support the vendors. That’s been my favorite part.”
Over 60 vendors participated in the Farmers Market this year, according to the Downtown Committee of Syracuse. Rob Travers, the director of the market, described the vendors as heroic.
“They come rain, shine or cold,” Travers said. “No matter what, they’re here for us.”
Mark Pawliw, a farmer for the Eden Fresh Network, shared that the bond he has with the community motivated him to set up his tent every Tuesday morning.
“It’s nice to have the people and the businesses that work down here come together,” Pawliw said.
The market will reopen in June 2o23, according to the Downtown Committee of Syracuse website.
