SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Department has made an arrest in the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Mya Killeen.
Killeen was shot inside an apartment at 921 Ballantyne Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. on January 22. She was taken to the hospital, and a short time later, she died from her injuries, according to police.
A 13-year-old boy has been taken into custody today, said Sgt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesman for the city police. The boy, who was not identified due to his age, is facing charges of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Malinowski said.
The investigation is still ongoing.
