Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) — As the winter weather is quickly approaching, CNY residents have some thoughts on the change in seasons. Though many have lived here for years, the excitement that comes along with the first fall of snow is not diminished. Resident Mary Rachel Keville shares that she is getting ready for the winter weather.
“Get your winter stuff and hope it still fits,” Keville says as the temperatures quickly drop into the 30s.
Preparing for the winter weather isn’t all winter jackets and snow boots though, many residents are excited for their favorite winter activities to return as snow begins to fall.

“I am looking forward to Lights on the Lake, that’s always the highlight of the year,” Keville says excitedly. Many people around Central New York share in this excitement as it approaches time for their favorite traditions.
“There’s always the dream of just going up to the Crouse hill and sledding,” Keville says. And she is not alone, many residents around the Syracuse area look forward to pulling their sleds out every year.
Even though temperatures are dropping, winter spirits seem to be rising in Central New York.
