SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – It’s no secret across the country that airports are getting busier. Syracuse Hancock International Airport has a master plan in place to continue to keep up with the demand of flights and travelers.
Last Thursday, Syracuse Airport announced its second master plan to update their facilities.
The master plan is a 20-year vision of how an airport needs to keep up with future demand.
It discusses how various aspects of the airport need to be developed. Some changes include improving runways, taxiways, and new parking garages.
The vision is based on forecasts of aviation activity, potential environmental effects, and community compatibility.
Syracuse Airport is currently in the development alternative phase to come up with different solutions to accommodate the demand where advanced air mobility will happen.
“First airport in the country to include Advance Air Mobility concerns in the actual developments of the master plan,” said Matt Szwejbka, customer experience manager at Syracuse Airport said to WNTQ-FM radio hosts Ted and Amy.
Syracuse Airport will soon implement their master plan which will offer a greater experience for travelers.
