SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCCNEWS)– A vendor suffered from theft Saturday night at the annual Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival.
This past weekend marked year 51 of the Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival.
Kent Terpening, a vendor at this years festival and one of the owners of Wildflower, a shop downtown suffered from theft Saturday night, losing about $1,000 worth of merchandise.
“It was very unusual and hopefully it’s a one and done and won’t happen again, but we’re going to keep an eye on it, and make sure we are secure going forward,” said Terpening.
This year’s festival has been a little strange for a variety of reasons, “We’ve had very crazy weather. Friday was super-hot and then Saturday was just a flood,” said Terpening.
The festival has two security guards that roam throughout the night, but they have yet to catch the thieves, according to Terpening.
The Syracuse police have yet to respond to a request for comment.
