Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) — It’s not often you stumble upon an indoor skate park in Central New York, but when you do, it makes the cold winter months that much more enjoyable for skate enthusiasts.
Black Mamba’s Skate Park, located in North Syracuse, offers all things and more for skateboarders, roller skaters, scooter riders, bikers and anyone looking for a fun activity seven days a week.
“We like to have a place where kids can go, keep them off the streets, give them something to do, and keep them off their iPhones and technology—so just a nice safe, friendly, family environment for everybody,” said co-owner Johanna Irving.
Black Mamba’s roller rink caters to all ages and welcomes kids to improve their skills or just enjoy the ebbs and flows of learning a new sport.
“This is a mommy-daughter activity today. We thought it would be fun. We’ve been here a couple of times before, so we just thought it would be a great idea to come out and skate and have some fun today,” said Sharqiyah and Aria Fairbee.
Some young roller skaters enjoy the sport so much that they choose to celebrate their birthdays with friends doing what they love most.
“I just turned twelve, and I’m having my birthday party here because I really like roller skating. I’ve been here a few times before, and I just really like the setup and all the lights and colors,” said Zallinia Zaccheus.
Whether it be a place for beginners or returning pros – the lively music, ample space for tricks and turns, and a store outfitted with everything a wheel connoisseur could need – a fun time is guaranteed.
This up-and-coming indoor skate park is one of many business initiatives in Syracuse that keep young kids active year-round.
