SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — While the months of April and May bring warmer weather and more sunshine for Central New York, it also brings its counterparts of stuffy noses and itchy eyes for those who suffer from spring allergies.
The city of Syracuse was recently ranked No. 57 nationally for most challenging cities to live in with seasonal allergies according to The Asthma and Allergy foundation of America.
The medication Sudafed has been selling rapidly says Alicia Litizio, a pharmacist for Walgreens on East Genesee st. in Syracuse.
While allergies may be on the rise, the way Litizio says to treat them still stays the same.
“It’s important that if you know you have allergies just to take a consistent one everyday.” Says Litizio, “It doesn’t matter which one you take: Claritin, Zyrtec, Xylol, Allegra see which one works best for you.”
While many seasonal allergies have started to affect many during the month of April, the allergy season in Central New York will continue until June.
