SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Bullfinch, Syracuse’s homegrown brewery infused with Dungeons and Dragons (DND) inspiration, has carved out a dedicated space for board game enthusiasts. Every Tuesday, from 6 to 10 p.m., a section of its bar transforms into a game night section.
“I’m a brew master and a dungeon master for DND,” said Dave Collins, the owner and brew master of Bullfinch. “So, the two things that I’m good at I kind of blended them together.”
Bullfinch’s brews boast distinctive names such as ‘simulacrum,’ ‘prismatic spray,’ and ‘mage hand’— all inspired by popular spells within the DND universe. Collins said Bullfinch aspires to bridge the realms of brewing and gaming, providing customers with an immersive and entertaining experience.
“I think beer should be fun,” said Collins. “It should be an experience and should be something that, you know, you can put a lot of thought and creativity and mindfulness into.”
If you happen to visit Bullfinch Brewery on a Tuesday evening, you’ll discover a community of individuals eager to introduce you to new board games while enjoying a drink – or two.
“More or less, for me personally, it’s the consistency of our games,” said Dan Lynch, an avid board game player. “Being able to play every single Tuesday, guaranteed… There are thousands of games that I want to play.”
