SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — The New York State Blues Festival returns bigger than ever before in the Salt City. The event remains at the New York State Fairgrounds but will feature more bands than previous years.
The three-day event begins Thursday at 4 p.m. and runs through Saturday evening. NYS Blues Festival Director Eric McElveen has seen the event continue to gain traction and believes it’s because the event is free.
“You know, we really like to bring everybody together as a community, because there’s nothing like music, to share with everybody,” McElveen said. “We have some pretty big acts who are coming to the festival this year who haven’t before, so that will only create more enjoyment for the event.”
Lil’ed and the Blues Imperials headline the bands performing at Chevy Court near the fairground’s front gates. Mathias Lattin returns to Syracuse on Friday night before Little Feat and Shemekia Copeland wrap up the festival on Saturday.
Even though general admission is free, the festival does offer VIP tickets. They are still available on their website as well as the full performer schedule.
