Business Fashion Evolution Due to Covid-19 Business Fashion's Evolution Due to Covid-19

XAVIER BROWN:Prior to the pandemic a suite and tie was a normal protocol for most people going to work.

ERIC ROUNDY:my attire was dress shoes, dress pants, suites pretty much 100% wool you always wear a tie every day just have to look sharp.

BROWN:However, thats all changed, and things are more laid back.

ROUNDY:all we need to do is wear a polo, some khakis and that would be considered appropriate attire.

BROWN:Monday through Friday this is what your everyday work attire used to be. A suite, however, thats no longer the case due toi covid-19 and the economy that has changedf the fashion world. Now its more like this, casual attire people are working from home and the suite and tie is not the necessity it once was.

CHINO INGRAM:pre covid , fashion was important being professional wearing suites and ties was a way people would actually go to work every single day and since covid that has change dramatically.

BROWN:As in the store is empty, customers don’t have a reason to dress up these days and the stores vibe shows it, Customers are optimistic things will return back to normal

ROUNDY:especially once covid is finally gone, and we start going to work again i think your going to see a lot of people going back to clothing stores, buying suites. dress attire is going to turn back to suites again.>

BROWN:some used to wish for a day to dress down, not is seems like the opposite.

SYRACUSE , NY   (NCC News)   : Things over the last nine months have changed drastically. One of the ways is how people dress when going to work. Things used to be more business orientated, but with zoom meetings and working from home dress has become more lax.

“I used to wear suites six days out of the week maybe even seven” said Eric Roundy. Since the pandemic he hasn’t needed to do that spending money on household necessities due to extended time stuck there was more important than dress clothes.

Roundy also said he misses wearing the suites but who could complain with a polo and shorts during the work week? having around 30-40 suites he said he wont miss a beat when that time does come back around but for now he is content.

” I can tell people just don’t care for shopping for these type of clothes, “even if there is an event people are going to attend, they will wear something they already have” and ” events cant host as many people these days, so people aren’t going to waste their time” . Ingram said.  Ingram beleives this has led to slow business.

Ingram and Roundy both agreed on a few things,  Roundy said recently he has started to get back into the stores because he has been going into his office in person more days throughout the week. Ingram said he continues to dress in suites and ties because “if you look good, you feel good”.

Will formal business attire be the normal again? or has the new age of zoom meetings working from home and business casual become dominant.
