Camping World Bowl Student Prices Enticing, But Maybe Not Compelling Enough Camping World Bowl Student Deals

OVER 12 HUNDRED MILES SEPARATE THE CARRIER DOME ON THE SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY HILL, AND CAMPING WORLD STADIUM IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA. BUT, THERE COULD BE AN INCENTIVE TO MAKE THE 17 AND A HALF HOUR DRIVE LATER THIS MONTH. N-C-C’S JACK MCMULLEN HAS MORE ON S-U FOOTBALL’S POSTSEASON PUSH FOR SUPPORT.

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL IS GOING TO A BOWL GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2013, AND THE STUDENT FANBASE SEEMS TO BE HAPPY.

“They kind of outdid everyone’s expectations, you know? Going 9-3 and to a bowl game for the first time in five years is impressive.”

“Any time you go undefeated at home, that certainly helps with marketing and a team that’s performing to the level they are.”

“**Sniffles** Pardon my sniffle, but the weather in Syracuse tomorrow: 34 and snowy. The weather in Orlando, Florida tomorrow: 69 and not a cloud in the sky. So SU Football, for their bowl game, is going to get to trade in these snowy benches for sandy beaches.”

SO S-U ATHLETICS HAS CRAFTED A DEAL: STUDENTS CAN PURCHASE TWO TICKETS FOR THE CAMPING WORLD BOWL ON DECEMBER 28TH IN ORLANDO FOR 25 DOLLARS APIECE. FOR ADDITIONAL TICKETS, IT’LL BE THE FACE VALUE OF JUST UNDER 80 DOLLARS. BUT TICKETS MAY NOT BE THE ISSUE.

“Well the tickets are a great deal, 25 dollars, but we’re in Upstate New York here, I’m going to fly down there and spend money on an airplane for a football game when I’ve already seen five at the Dome.”

BUT THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY, AND AS OF LAST NIGHT, 330 STUDENTS HAD ALREADY TAKEN S-U ATHLETICS UP ON THE OFFER.

“You know, I think students find creative ways to get to these games. I know, you know in 2016 when we made the Tournament, and we made it to the Final Four, I know there were buses that came from Syracuse to Houston.”

SO HERE’S THE QUESTION. WOULD YOU RATHER BE WITH THIS E-D INITIALED ICON SOAKING UP THE SUN, OR THIS E-D INITIALED ICON BRAVING THE COLD? JACK MCMULLEN, N-C-C NEWS.

(SYRACUSE, N.Y.) — Syracuse Football put together its best regular season since 2001, going 9-3 and earning a trip to the 2018 Camping World Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The SU student body has seemed to take notice as well.

“They kind of outdid everyone’s expectations, you know? ” said Syracuse junior Kevin Crowley. “Going 9-3 and to a bowl game for the first time in five years is impressive.”

This incredible regular season for SU head coach Dino Babers and his team has certainly made SU Athletics’ job easier as well.

“Any time you go undefeated at home, that certainly helps with marketing and a team that’s performing to the level they are,” said Brett Wallace, the Assistant Director of Marketing and Ticket Sales for SU Athletics.

With the stars aligning, SU Athletics offered the student body a ticket pricing deal once the bowl selection was announced. Each Syracuse University student could two tickets, priced at $25 each. If the student wanted additional tickets, he/she could purchase them through Athletics for the face value of $79 dollars apiece.

However, it’s the other costs that seem to be getting in the way of students taking SU Athletics up on the offer.

“Well the tickets are a great deal, 25 dollars, but we’re in Upstate New York here, I’m going to fly down there and spend money on an airplane for a football game when I’ve already seen five at the Dome,” said Crowley.

As of last Tuesday night, SU Athletics had already sold 330 tickets to students. The Camping World Bowl will be held on December 28th in Orlando, Florida, when Syracuse takes on West Virginia.
