JACKSON SUDER: Today, Cayuga County opened its first and only vaccination clinic of the week. The clinic is located at the Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn.

SUDER: Cayuga County Senior Public Health Educator Kimberly Abate says that appointments were completely booked.

KIMBERLY ABATE: It’s full, we probably have three-hundred and something appointments for today.

SUDER: Abate says the only vaccine that they have available is the Moderna shot.

ABATE: We haven’t received any Johnson & Johnson yet, we don’t know if we will receive it, if we do we will probably do some clinics with that but right now we don’t have any.

SUDER: The county plans to have the clinic open one day each week until the end of April. People ages 18 and up can register on the county’s health department website for their shot starting next Tuesday. Clinic hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

AUBURN, N.Y. (NCC News)- Today, Cayuga County opened its first and only vaccination clinic. Each week the county plans to have the clinic open for one day in order to vaccinate the qualifying people in their county. The clinic is located in the back parking lot at the Fingerlakes Mall located at 1579- Clark Street Rd. in Auburn, N.Y.

Cayuga County Senior Public Health Educator Kimberly Abate said that appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine filled up very quickly, and were completely booked.

“(Registration) is completely full…We probably have over 300 and something appointments for today.” said Abate.

The county health department has only received doses of the Moderna vaccine, and is still currently waiting to see if they receive the Johnson & Johnson dose or the Pfizer dose.

“We haven’t received any Johnson & Johnson yet,” Abate said. “We don’t know if we will receive it, if we do we will…probably do some clinics with that but right now we don’t have any.” said Abate.

The county health department plan for the upcoming month is to have the clinic open one day each week. To get the shot you must be registered through the county’s health department website, People ages 18 and older can register on the county’s health department website starting next Tuesday. Clinic hours run from 10 a.m.- 1:10 p.m.
