Saral Khare: Centro’s Vice President of Business Planning Steven J. (Kay-gal) says that it made sense business wise to cut the prices.

Steven J. Koegel: This is in line with our regular fares that we reduced back in March so in accord with how we run our regular operations so the state fair service is going to be the same as our regular service

Saral Khare: Koegel says Centro is trying to help people better afford transportation in attending the fair.

Steven J.Koegel: The cost of a family of four is now less than ten dollars we think in this day and age it’s a great deal and a great bargain

Saral Khare: Koegel says this year the fair will have more people than last year.

While he doesn’t think that it will reach the levels it did pre-pandemic he does think it will be a great turnout.

SYRACUSE N.Y. (NCC News)-  Centro Bus Station is cutting their prices in half from $2 to $1 each way for the upcoming New York State Fair. Centro’s Vice President of Business Planning Steven J. Koegel (Kay-Gal) talks about how New York State Assemblymen William Magnarelli helped them cut down the prices.

“ We’re very thankful  for the work from our New York State assemblymen Bill Magnarelli who secured $250,000 in state funding this year to help us offset the cost for their service” said Koegel.

Koegel also talks about it made sense business wise to cut the prices.

“This is in line with our regular fares that we reduced back in March,” said Koegel  “So in accord with how we run our regular operations so the state fair service is going to be the same as our regular service”

More to it, Centro also wants to make it easier for families to attend the fair.

“The cost of a family of four is now less than $10, we think in this day and age it’s a great deal and a great bargain” said Koegel.

Last year because of COVID lots of vendors and workers backed out but this year more people will be working. Koegel expects the environment to be different this year.

“We anticipate more people coming this year compared to last year,” said Koegel “Last year was the first year after the pandemic and I think there was reluctance on some individuals to attend the state fair last year”

While Koegel doesn’t expect the attendance to be at the levels it was pre-pandemic he still expects a great turnout this year.

The New York State fair will run from August 24th to September 5th.
