3,000 lights will don the clocktower

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — On Monday evening, the Crouse Health clocktower will be lit up for the holiday season.

The 36th annual Crouse Health Foundation Lights of Love campaign that takes place each holiday season will begin on Monday. The lighting ceremony is scheduled for 4:30-6:00 PM.

3,000 lights are illuminated on the clocktower each year, with each one given in honor or memory of someone.

Each year, Lights of Love seeks to use the proceeds toward a different Crouse program or service. This year’s proceeds are intended for the clocktower itself, which is in need of structural repairs and restoration including the roof, windows, and some painting.

“The Crouse clocktower has long been a signal of strength and hope for the communities we serve in Central New York and its preservation is essential,” Crouse Health Foundation Chair Vincent Spina noted in a statement on Crouse.org. “With this restoration, it will continue to serve as a visible reminder of the Crouse mission, vision, and values.”
