SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Cumulus Media held a job fair outside Destiny USA Mall on Tuesday.
The event began at 2 p.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. at The Embassy Suites. Nearly 20 vendors are participating in the job fair, including national companies like Amazon, Spectrum and Marshalls.
According to the New York State Department of Labor, Onondaga County had a 3.6% unemployment rate during the summer. The unemployment rate in the city of Syracuse is 3.7%.
Janice Cole, the director of promotion of Cumulus Media Sales, said they hope this in-person job fair can drag the job hunting to the normal pre-pandemic way.
“Meeting in-person really does make it different, I mean, they can walk in here today and they can get a job on the spot. They are interviewing right here. It’s a nice one on one experience,” said Cole.
Cumulus Media is an American broadcasting company that hosts 93Q, 95X, The Score 1260, and The Rebel Rocks in Syracuse.
