Dinosaurs are in Salt City For the Love of Dinosaurs

By Erron Franklin SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) —Jurassic Quest has made its way back to Central New York and the opening day drew crowds of children and adults. The event begs the question: What is it about the Dinosaurs that captivates human beings?

A landmark study conducted by researchers from America and Australia delves into children and their extremely intense interests. They suggest that the fascination is inter-generational.

The research shows that children focus on an extremely intense interest after certain types of exposure. This includes exposure to an object in a book, video or real life.

Some of the little “experts” who stopped by Jurassic Quest on opening day were pretty confident about why humans love dinosaurs.

“Well, I guess it’s because they are so fascinating,” said Josiah Mutschler. “They have so much more to learn about them.

Little Bianna from Buffalo New York thinks it might be because they are simply pre-historic creatures.

“Umm, maybe because they [Dinosaurs] came before us.”

The study also concludes that interest in dinosaurs ranked after the cars, trucks and balls. Children develop these extreme interest all before reaching age two.

The larger than life size creatures are here in town for just a few days. Saturday and Sunday are expected to sellout.

T-Rex is visiting here at the NY State Fairgrounds. He brought some of his even bigger friends along with him, Like Spinosaurus with him. Velociraptor is in town along with…..

“Personally my favorite is the T-Rex and the saber tooth cat.

“Some studies…like this one, suggest that the excitement and fascination that surrounds prehistoric creatures is inter-generational. I took some time today to speak with the real experts about the love humans have for Dinosaurs.”)

“Well, I guess it’s because they are so fascinating. They always have so much more to learn about them.”

In fact, that landmark American and Australian University study concluded that most children develop extremely intense interests or E-I -I’s as researchers call the, before age 2. Here’s my nephew Harley and his Dinosaur themed third birthday party. The research also shows that children focus on an E-I-I before after exposure in real life

(“Umm Maybe because they are before us…”)

And this guy, He was just stuck speechless…By the way, Dinosaurs ranked behind cars and trucks and balls in the E-I-I study….But you wouldn’t know by the children’s reactions here at the fairgrounds, on display through tomorrow. Erron Franklin, N-C-C news.
