SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Dinosaurs are returning to the New York State Fair.
Starting August 21st, fairgoers will experience over 60 life-size dinosaur models ranging from three to 35 feet tall. The experience is free with admission and will be on display for all 13 days of the fair.
The program includes a storytime session where crewmembers will read dino-themed children’s books and have a hands-on “fossil-dig” for prehistoric bones. There will also be multiple opportunities for photo-ops, including one inside a dinosaur egg.
If you didn’t get to see the dinosaurs last year, you won’t want to miss them again, New York State Fair Director Julie LaFave said.
“The technology behind the movements and sounds that bring these dinosaurs to life is incredible and leaves you feeling as if you’ve been transported back in time,” LaFave said.
She went on to speak about the importance of bringing affordable entertainment to the greater Syracuse community.
“You pay to get in, we don’t want to obligate you to then spend more money once you get in,” LaFave said.
Admission to the 2024 New York State Fair is $8 for adults and free for children under 12.
