QUENTIN LEHN: Now that Thanksgiving is over it’s time to start thinking about Christmas Trees. One Christmas Tree Farm owner says that the early cold weather is impacting the trees, N-C-C’s Natalie Fahmy has more.

NATALIE FAHMY: As an owner of Page’s Christmas Tree Farm, Cynthia Page says that the earlier the cold weather comes, the sooner the Christmas Trees stop growing.

CYNTHIA PAGE: “The trees become dormant after the first few frosts, so they’re not growing right now.”

NATALIE FAHMY: But, she says despite the cold weather, people are still motivated to come and get a tree, even if it might not be as tall as trees they’ve had in the past.

CYNTHIA PAGE: “They may delay it for a day or for a weekend, but they still are going to get a tree.”

NATALIE FAHMY: But, Page says getting a tree too early is not a good idea, because it is difficult to properly take care of them.

CYNTHIA PAGE: “There’s not sense to even water it unless you know how to give it a fresh cut and keep water in the tree.”

Now that Thanksgiving is over it’s time to start thinking about Christmas Trees. One Christmas Tree Farm owner said that the early cold weather this year is impacting the trees

As an owner of Page’s Christmas Tree Farm, Cynthia Page said that the earlier the cold weather comes, the sooner the Christmas Trees stop growing. 
 
“The trees become dormant after the first few frosts, so they’re not growing right now,” said Page. 

But, she said despite the cold weather, people are still motivated to come and get a tree, even if it might not be as tall as trees they’ve had in past years.

“They may delay it for a day or for a weekend, but they still are going to get a tree,” said Page. 

But, Page said getting a tree too early is not a good idea, because it is difficult to properly take care of them. She said there is a lot of trimming involved in order to make sure the tree is actually getting watered.
