Thanks Greg — now for those who won’t be able to vote in person tomorrow because of COIVD-19, time is running out… You must have someone go to the Onondaga County Board of Elections for you and get an absentee ballot

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Early voting in Onondaga County broke records this year. 59,284 people voted early and 51,780 absentee ballots have been received by the Onondaga County Board of Elections.

Early voting caused long lines at polling places. Onondaga County Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny says that had they opened up more polling sites early this would have increased turnout and cut down on wait times.

Some voters waited over an hour to vote early. Czarny says that voters could also see long lines at the polls on election day.

“I mean it’s a presidential election,” Czarney said. “I expect long — longer waits between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and anytime after 5 o’clock.”

The board of elections spent the day inspecting polling locations to ensure everything was ready to go for tomorrow.

Polls in Onondaga County open at 6 a.m. and will be open until 9 p.m.
