A.J. Gersh and Georgie Volturo are joined by Noah Wolfe with Weather, and Mike Mulford with Sports to tell us what’s coming up today on NCC News.

AJ:Welcome to the NCC NEWS podcast I’m your host AJ Gersh alongside my co-host Georgie Volturo.

Georgie: that’s right we have a lot of news coming ahead at 4 and 4:45 but first let’s take a look at the forecast with our resident weather expert Noah Wolfe.

Noah: Thanks guys, I’m really flattered by the praise.
Well it’s currently 20 degrees outside but it feels just a bit colder than that…about six right now.
So you’re definitely going to want to wear your hats and gloves when you’re stepping out.
As for the rest of the day, temperatures are going down to fifteen in the evening before dropping to eight degrees overnight.
A perfect time to stay in and watch a movie.

Georgie: thanks Noah it definitely is gonna be a cold one out there the next couple of days

AJ: Definitely. Better bundle up. And in local news coming up at 4 and 445…

– the Liverpool fire department responded to a house fire on greenpoint Avenue this morning just after 5 am. There’s no reports on injuries or what caused the fire at this time.

– stretch limos can continue to operate throughout central New York after Governor Cuomo dropped his proposal to ban the vehicles statewide. The proposal was in response to the deadly Schoharie limo crash in October that killed twenty.

And we’re just hours away from the annual state of the county address at 5:30. Onondaga county executive Ryan McMan will likely address infrastructure, economic issues and fighting poverty.

AND Now Georgie with a preview of our national news stories

Georgie: President Trump arrived in Vietnam today for his second summit with North Korean leader Kim jong un. The goal is for North Korea to denuclearize, especially after the first meeting in June received criticism after it failed to achieve this goal.

Passengers have been stuck for over 40 hours on board and Amtrak train in Oregon. Officials from Amtrak have said the issue, that has almost 200 passengers stranded on the train, was cause by extreme weather in the area. We’re continuing to track the situation and the status of the passengers.

And now for a look at what’s coming up in sports here’s Mike Mulford.

Mike: Thanks Georgie. The Orange Men’s Basketball Team will take on the number 5 ranked UNC Tar Heels tonight at 9 in North Carolina.
After a tough loss to the number one ranked Duke Blue Devils, Coach Boeheim and the Orange look to bounce back against Coach Roy Williams and the high powered Tar Heel offense.

SU’s Howard Washington has revealed he decided to take a medical redshirt in December because the 20 year old suffered a stroke. Many assumed Washington’s leave was because of a prior ACL injury.

The Colorado Rockies and phenom Nolan Arenado are finalizing a contract. This is no ordinary contract as Arenado will make over thirty two million annually, making him the highest paid position player in MLB history.
