Syracuse, New York is home to the great New York State Fair, and has been since 1890 the fair attracts over 1.2 million people each year, and families from all over New York have made the fair in annual tradition. 20 year old Sophia Grasso of Fayetteville New York, says the New York State Fair has been a staple of her childhood.

If you’re older, you can go into the different houses, walk around, and they have a bunch of like, vendors and free samples. Then obviously there’s the rides, fair rides that are like good for little kids and older. Then there’s a bunch of food trucks and food like opportunities and different places that you can try to only go to, like the fair,

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS)– The Great New York State Fair is two weeks away, and many Central New Yorkers are excited for the state’s premier summer event to return. The Fair attracts over 1 million people each year, according to nysfair.ny.gov.
Sofia Grasso, 20, of Fayetteville, New York, has attended the State Fair with friends and family since she was little.
“It was a great time to get together with your friends and have one last big outing together, going on all the different rides and trying different foods,” Grasso said.
The Fair offers something for everyone, regardless of age.
“If you’re older, you can go into the different houses, walk around, and they have a bunch of vendors and free samples,” Grasso said. “Then obviously, there’s the fair rides that are good for young kids and older.”
The Great New York State Fair kicks off on Wednesday, August 21st, and runs through Monday, September 2nd.
