Local Gyms and Fitness Facilities Get Ready for Workouts and Fitness Classes

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Fitness Centers and  local gyms are preparing to unlock their doors to the Central New York community.  It’s been three months since gyms and recreational facilities have been open to the public.

Before putting a plan in place, fitness instructors at Cooper Beech  Commons made sure residents and avid fitness attendees were able to keep their regiment going through a open line of communication and digital media tutorials.

Each group will be assigned a work out mat that they much clean before leaving that fitness station

“My classes were shut down I continue to stay in contact with most of my clients sending them workouts weekly workouts and if they ever had questions they have my number and my email so they can contact me that way,”  said fitness instructor Greta Swift.

It’s a  happy day for Syracuse residents now that can return back to their fitness courses. Although the doors of the fitness facilities are reopening their will  be a new structure and guidelines to follow that will ensure safety for both the instructor and fitness class participants.

“It’s just about making sure you’re reconnected with everybody you were working with before, making sure everybody’s aware that things are about to come back and I’m going to resume everything I was doing before basically,” said Swift.

Often times it’s difficult to stay motivated. It can be double the task to remain consistent with your daily workouts when you’re enrolled in a virtual routine. With the fitness classes returning, students will be able to have a deeper focus on their health and well being as well as an accountability partner.

“I’m definitely one of those people who I do better when I’m around people. Virtual is a good substitute giving the circumstances with social distancing and everything like that. But me I thrive off of other people,” said fitness participant  Jordyn Larkin.

The yoga studio at Cooper Beech Commons will provide  a new atmosphere that will be more direct for the fitness attendees. As the fitness classes restarts,  a miniature group structure  will be used to make all fitness attendees most comfortable as they move from station to station. with each other.  The expectation of cleanliness and social distancing will still be used  for the sake of everyone’s health.

The fitness class implement workouts with equipment that can also be used at home.

“Cooper Beech the yoga room is kind of small so it will be limited capacity to probably 5-7 people,” said  Swift.
