Brady Williams SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Syracuse celebrates iconic rock band Heart this week, who performed at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview Tuesday night. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were accompanied by nine-time Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow and singer Elle King.
The event was part of the band’s “Love Alive” tour, which marks the band’s first collaboration in three years. According to the band’s website, Crow is one of several other music mainstays that will open for Heart throughout the tour.
Artists Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Brandi Carlile. and Lucie Silvas are all participating in the tour. Lead singer Ann Wilson says they are including these artists as a celebration of powerful female musicians.
When announcing the guest performers, guitarist Nancy Wilson said, “I think this year is a good year to show the collective impact of some powerful women in music. We would usually steer clear of the female-centric concept, but in the light of current events it seems like the right statement at the right time.”
The concert was one of many being offered at St. Joe’s this summer. The amphitheater will host other big name acts such as KISS, Bryan Adams, Florida Georgia Line, and Cardi B until mid-September.
