Mike Smith: …the staff was awesome to us. We got on a first name bases with a lot of the nurses and doctors. I wanted to give back to them and to the community through this show.

Troy Rose: Smith credits Jeep’s history and huge following for uniting a strong group that is open to new ideas and helping further a cause.

Mike Smith: it’s relatively easy to put an event together and get Jeep-minded people together. Especially when it has to do with a cause or a charity or some type of benefit.

Troy Rose: If you would like to be apart of the show, it will be held Sunday, nine to four at Sylvan Beach Village Park. You can also donate by visiting Jeeps dot com. Troy Rose, N-C-C News.

By Troy Rose, SYRACUSE, N.Y. (N-C-C News) – “Jeeps at the Beach” plans to donate proceeds to local organizations specializing in health care and scientific research.

The Upstate Foundation and Golisano Children’s Hospital are highly recognized organizations that stand to provide the best care for children. They also continue the search for cures through research.

Show organizer Mike Smith began the Beach Jeep Show to demonstrate his appreciation to the same hospital that once nurtured his son back to good health.

The show is expected to have over 400 Jeeps at Sylvan Beach Village Park.

“The Jeep has such a long history and such a strong following that it’s relatively easy to put an event together,” says Smith.

It will be the show’s 8th annual and Smith says Jeep-minded people are always there helping further the cause.

“…when it has something to do with a cause or a charity or some type of benefits I feel like the Jeep community in general, they’re good people,” said Smith. “They want to do good for others.”

If you would like to be a part of the show, it will be held Sunday, nine to four but you can also donate.
