SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – It is officially that time of year when the lake effect snow is traveling around parts of central New York.
A Lake Effect Snow Warning was issued for today through the night including areas of Onondaga and Madison counties. The areas at most risk for a heavy blanket of snow are Southern Jefferson, Lewis, Northern Oswego counties, and the Tug Hill.
In addition to the Lake Effect Snow Warning for parts of Central New York, a Winter Weather Advisory was issued to Madison, Wayne, Southern Cayuga, and Southern Oneida counties. This advisory is also for the entire night, preparing people for the several inches of snow and impact they could see.
People in Pulaski, Highmarket, and Constableville woke up to nearly a foot of snow outside this morning. The snow will shift to south of Syracuse around midday or early afternoon today. A shift in the wind could push the snow southeast of Lake Ontario and into the Syracuse area.
