With the popularity of the program, local businesses are excepting more business

Ononadga County is giving residents the chance to dine at the cities best restaurant at half the price. The “Keeping it Local” program aims to give out more than 400-thousand dollars worth of gift cards to county residents to support the restaurant industry. For every dollar spent on gift cards, the county will double the value up to 100-dollars.

Danielle also says the customers aren’t the only ones benefiting off of the program…

The 400-thousand dollars sold out within an hour of its release. County Executive, Ryan McMahon, says the goal “was to stimulate the restaurants, and that mission was accomplished.

Syracuse N.Y (NCC NEWS) – Onondaga County’s “Keeping It  Local” campaign sought to help the local restaurant industry in the aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic. With the first set of vouchers rolled out in April this year, the excitement for the program was gaining in the past few weeks. Within just one hour of the release, the 400,000 dollars of vouchers had already sold out.

Local restaurant owner, Danielle Mercuri believes the program is a no-doubter for the community. She says “they get to come in and enjoy all the good restaurant for half the price.”

County Executive, Ryan McMahon, was the one in charge of the program and said that mission of “stimulating the restaurants” was successful after the program.

Over 100 restaurants are participating in the program, and the local economy could see a massive boost thanks to the program.
