SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)  Pet owners have a chance to create an unforgettable art work this Sunday at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Syracuse.  The Paint Your Pet Portrait event is a painting workshop where attendees will be led in a step-by-step process in painting a picture of their beloved pet.

Diana Myers has been running this workshop for multiple years now, and tries to hold one every month. She said some workshop goers want a keep-safe through which they can remember their pets. “I’ve even had people come in to do pets that had passed, that had died. We call it crossing the rainbow bridge, and they want a picture of that animal, and they want to do that in memory of the animal.”

Paint Your Pet is open to both experienced and new painters, said Myers; “Yeah, I think sometimes I know and I’ve seen cases where I’ve actually introduced them to painting.”

After signing up for the event, participants will need to send Myers a picture of their pet, which Myers will blow up and bring to the workshop as a guide for that particular painting.

The workshops usually consist of around 4-8 participants, and it costs $65 to attend. Tickets can be bought up until 24 hours before the event, which will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday.
