By Troy Rose, SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – The Rotary Ribs, Rhythm and Blues Festival will donate most of this year’s proceeds to one local organization.
“Nick’s Ride 4 Friends” is a non-profit organization helping people battling substance abuse.
The foundation is designed to help recovery, wellness and finally the job search.
President and Founder Joel Campagnola (camp-anoh-la) has built a strong organization that was founded after the untimely death of his son Nick, who suffered from addiction.
Since beginning the program, thousands of people with addiction have utilized the club house for health meetings, hygiene products and built a resume for future jobs.
“2018, we had 11-thousand 606 people come through our doors for some type of service,” says Campagnola.
This type of dedication did not go unnoticed and nurtured a relationship between the organization and The Rotary Club.
“They knew I was always trying to do something to pay the rent to keep the doors open,” said Campagnola. “I just can’t thank them enough for giving us this opportunity.”
