SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – The Syracuse City School District announced that Henninger High School will switch to fully remote learning this week after a student tested positive for COVID-19.
Salem Hyde Elementary School will remain closed this week, as part of the district’s plan to shut down the school for two weeks after a staff member contracted coronavirus.
The district found out this weekend that two additional Salem Hyde Elementary staff members and a bus attendant tested positive. SCSD Superintendent Jaime Alicea said that bus attendant also attended routes to STEM at Blodgett and Webster Elementary School.
“The county health department through their contact tracing will be in touch with those, both staff members and students who they believe may have been exposed to the individual who tested positive for COVID-19,” Alicea said in a letter to parents in the district.
