BOSTON, Ma. (NCC News) — Actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon on allegations of offering bribes to get their daughters into the University of Southern California (USC).
Neither were asked to enter a plea, they are accused of paying $500,000 to have their daughters treated as recruits to the USC crew team, despite neither of the daughters playing the sport.
Loughlin and Giannulli are part of a group of 33 parents charged in the college admissions scheme that involves coaches at competitive schools including Georgetown and Yale.
Loughlin and Giannulli are charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.
