Manlius town voters reject ward system in special election Manlius town voters reject ward system in special election

MANLIUS, N.Y. (NCC News) – Town of Manlius voters disapproved a change in the way town board members would be elected.

On Saturday, 70% of voters in a special election said no to dividing the town into wards. The ward system would allow for a town board member to represent each area.

At the Manlius town hall in Fayetteville, votes were casted until 7 p.m., two hours after the polls closed. Wait times lasted well over 70 minutes.

2,105 votes were casted against the ward zone. 890 yes votes were counted. The elected board members will continue to represent the entire town.
