Meet CitrusTV’s Newest General Manager Meet CitrusTV's Newest General Manager

By Noah Eagle, SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – CitrusTV is SU’s only student-run television station. Each year, there is new executive staff of students selected to lead their peers.

On November 4, 2018, Victoria Beaulé was elected as the newest GM of the organization. She will be the first female to hold the position in five years. However, Beaulé doesn’t see it as such.

“I don’t like to think of myself as a woman doing things. I like to think of myself as a person doing things,” said Beaulé. “I do think it’s important to have women in leadership roles. While I might not think of myself as a woman in a leadership role, I think it’s more for other people to see.”

However, Beaulé’s journey to the top of television on campus is not a typical one. The junior Television, Radio and Film major is originally from Quebec. When she was 10 years old, Beaulé’s family moved to Montreal, meaning she had to learn a new language.

“My mother introduced me to TV shows. She used to play TV shows when we were eating breakfast, so I would pick up the language, pick up the mannerisms,” said Beaulé.

That’s how she fell in love with television, and once she got to high school, she decided to focus further. Going to an all-girls stem school in Canada with a graduating class of 19 people, Beaulé was the only person in her media class.

Eventually she landed in Syracuse, and hopes to create an environment that people are happy and willing to work at the CitrusTV studios.
