SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — This summer’s Moonlight Movie Series officially came to a close Monday night.
Located at Empower Amphitheater at Lakeview, moviegoers can come to this event for free and bring their lawn chairs and coolers.
Pita Dram food vendor Ahmad Zatar discusses why it’s important this event is free to the public.
“Just being part of the community…it’s just lovely to be here when your outside in nature, you see people, you get to know people, talk to people, food”
“There are times when it’s full like you could barely walk between the crowds.”
This double-feature movie night has close to 1,000 people at each show.
The sunny lawn is packed with friends and families to enjoy Week 3 “Night at the Zoo”.
Security Brenna Edwards says there is no real pressure at free events like this.
“One of my favorite summer events, everything’s always so big and crazy and on a much grander scale…. it’s an enjoyable event that I can bring my own kids to.”
Edwards says it’s nice to have an event like this when so many activities for families have a dollar sign on them.
This summer’s Moonlight Movie Series kicked off on July 15th and ended on July 29th and is set to return next year.
