Julia Skeval: This is your NCC News Brief. It’s July 6th. I’m Julia Skeval. DeWitt residents have seen large increases in their tax bills. Homeowners like Carrie Berse say the booming housing market provided clues that this would be the case.
Berse: It was a bit of a shock but not a complete surprise because during the pandemic with mortgage rates so low, the cost of houses has really skyrocketed.
Skeval: The physical strength of athletes often takes center stage but behind their accomplishments can exist a hidden opponent – mental struggles. Runner Ayana Fletcher knows this first hand but offers some key advice for getting through the bad days.
Ayana Fletcher: You can do anything you put your mind to.You don’t have to give up just because things don’t always go your way.
Skeval: And now that college athletes can make money from their names, image and likeness, those with this newfound opportunity like Syracuse defensive lineman Josh Black say it definitely feels like uncharted territory.
Josh Black: Keep track of everything like that and I don’t think a lot of these one: have no idea how to do it and two: never even thought about doing it right now which creates another slippery slope right now.
