SARAH SALZMAN: THIS IS YOUR NCC NEWSBRIEF.
IT’S JUNE, FIFTEENTH.
I’M SARAH SALZMAN.
RESIDENTS IN BALDWINSVILLE AND LYSANDER ARE WORRIED ABOUT A NEW INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING WAREHOUSE COMING TO TOWN.
THE FACTORY OWNED BY SYRACUSE BASED UNITED AUTO SUPPLY WAS THE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION AT A TOWN HALL MEETING LAST THURSDAY THAT ENDED IN A SHOUTING MATCH.
LYSANDER RESIDENT CINDY CLARKE SAYS SHE HOPES THE WAREHOUSE’S POSITIVE IMPACTS WILL CALM HER NEIGHBORS CONCERNS.

CINDY CLARKE: “I like to say if you want to control it you got to own it. And I hope that it will be a boom for our community, I hope it will help with the taxes, and I hope people’s fears that they have…they’ll see that maybe…I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not going to happen but I’m hoping their concerns will be properly addressed and taken care of and we can all move on.”

SALZMAN: CROUSE HOSPITAL IS OPENING A NEW ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER THIS SATURDAY.
THE STATE CONTRIBUTED 17-MILLION DOLLARS IN FUNDING TO THE FACILITY ON ERIE BOULEVARD THATS DOUBLE THE SIZE OF THE FORMER HEADQUARTERS.
THE CENTER’S DIRECTOR MONIKA TAYLOR SAYS THE FACILITY IS PREPARED TO TREAT UP TO 300 PATIENTS IN NEED OF OPIOD REHABILITATION

MONIKA TAYLOR: “Getting them into treatment faster is the top priority for us at this point and the goal is to get them started on medication if that is what they need on their first treatment visit here with us.”

SALZMAN: AND RAIN IS COOLNG DOWN CENTRAL NEW YORK!

JULIA SKEVAL: “Hi I’m Julia Skeval with your NCC Weather update. It’s currently 66 degrees under pretty much cloudy skies. Rain is expected in the forecast later today”
