THE FIRST SURVEYS ARE IN ON HOW THE COMMUNITY WANTS THE SYRACUSE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO SPEND 109 MILLION DOLLARS OF FEDERAL FUNDING. MARY HABIB, DIRECTOR OF FINANCES FOR THE DISTRICT, SAYS THIS MONEY WILL BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
MARY HABIB: With the new stimulus money and the New York state budget that came in, we actually have more money than the district has seen ever. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the district.
BOTHMANN: RECORDS GATHERED FROM THE CITY OF SYRACUSE SHOW THAT PARKING BOOTS ARE PUT ON CARS AROUND THE SYRACUSE CAMPUS TWICE AS FREQUENTLY AS ANY OTHER PART OF THE CITY. SYRACUSE POLICE DEPUTY CHIEF, RICHARD SCHOFF, DISCUSSED WHY THAT MIGHT BE.
RICHARD SCHOFF: So tickets get fed into the system and then they have the license plate readers that hits on people that meet the violation standards.
